Overview:

We are seeking two seasoned Licensed Professional Counselors (or state-licensed mental health clinicians) to join our team.

New Hope Counseling Center (NHCC) newhopesoldotna.com is a non-profit counseling center which blends Christian faith-based counseling with best practices of psychotherapy. We are located on the campus of Alaska Christian College (ACC) alaskacc.edu in Soldotna, Alaska. We provide services to both the students and staff of Alaska Christian College. We also provide services to local communities of the Kenai Peninsula and communities in greater AK through tele-behavioral health. We offer cutting-edge services in trauma recovery incorporating both traditional counseling interventions and innovative techniques such as neuro-feedback. We value collaboration and continued professional development and offer an enriching environment.

The ideal candidate will provide therapy and counseling services to individuals, couples, or families dealing with various mental health issues and will have the capacity to integrate the wisdom of Scripture as invited. This role requires a state license in a mental health-related discipline, expertise in client engagement from children through late adulthood, cross-cultural humility, assessment, diagnosis, collaborative treatment planning with the client, case management, and office maintenance professionalism.

Education and License Requirements:

  • Master Degree in a counseling related field
  • Alaska State License in the field of Mental Health

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct intakes and assessments with clients to address their mental health needs and goals
  • Conduct therapy sessions in alignment with mutually identified therapy goals
  • Implement psychotherapy techniques tailored to each client's unique situation
  • Utilize an Electronic Healthcare program to document and track client progress and treatment plans
  • Collaborate with other clinicians and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care

Skills:

  • Proficiency in mental health terminology for effective communication with healthcare providers
  • Experience in therapy and counseling methods to assist clients in their mental health journey
  • Ability to work with individuals, couples, and families with a vast array of mental health needs
  • Proficient knowledge of Scripture and the ability to integrate Biblical principles with psycho-therapeutic best practices
  • Knowledge of case management principles to coordinate care for clients
